The Wonderland Express

The Wonderland Express was the park’s train. It was built to look like an old steam locomotive, but it ran on rubber tyres along the park roads rather than on rails, pulling a string of open-sided carriages behind it.

It did a loop of the park, stopping along the way to pick up and drop off passengers, so you could ride it from one land to another or just sit back and watch the park go by.

We know very little else about it. The locomotive carried the number 601, and photos from January 2002 show it still running in the park’s final years. If you drove it, worked on it or remember riding it, we would love to hear from you on the Facebook group, and if you have photos of it, even better.
