Spellbinding Sorcery was Tony and Juleen’s illusion show at the Galaxy Theatre, the successor to Millennium Magic. It was relaunched in February 2002 with new costumes, new illusions and ‘Clearly Impossible’, a perspex sawing illusion; by then the pair had been the park’s resident illusionists for three years.
The show kept changing. The Houdini Water Torture Cell Escape was performed every day of the Easter holidays, 13 to 28 April 2002; a diamond python joined the ‘Oragami’ illusion in September 2002; on 17 October 2002 the pair received the IMS Merlin Award as International Illusionists of the Year 2002, the first Australian illusionists to win it; and ‘Feline Fantasy’, an illusion with a live tiger, opened on Saturday 22 February 2003.
The show played every day in the Galaxy Theatre and was still running in 2004. The earlier show, and the photos of Tony and Juleen, are on the Millennium Magic page.
