The Carousel started out in 1985 as Huckleberry Hound’s Merry-Go-Round over in Hanna-Barbera Land. When Hanna-Barbera Land was closed in 2002, the ride was moved across the park to Old Botany Bay (the area that had been known as Medieval Faire and then International Village in earlier eras). The Hanna-Barbera-themed gondolas – Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Magilla Gorilla and friends – were taken off and replaced with traditional generic horses, and the ride was simply called the Carousel from then on. It operated in that form until the park closed in April 2004.
